One More Week

Colossalcon is next week!  Next weekend!

I'm so anxious and excited all at once.  I'm nearly done with my Zelos Wilder cosplay.  The character I'll be cosplaying is this guy here:

He's a character from the video game Tales of Symphonia and its sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

I've got only the gloves to finish now!

There are so many people I'm looking forward to see here!

Aaaah!

National Months of Celebration

Some people don't necessarily understand why people would set aside months to celebrate things.  You have May as the national smile month, March as the national reading month, we even have a black history month.

The ones that I know of, are a lot of things that America doesn't seem to have enough of.  People do need to smile more.  It's good to promote reading.  The celebration of the rich history of a certain ethnicity is a good thing.

I don't see these celebratory months as something silly.  I see more of the "National ??? Day" celebrations as silly such as "National Pirate Day" or "National Popcorn Day".

It's mostly silly fun.  Society doesn't disrespect those who don't celebrate these silly things.

I think there should be a day in May to celebrate May.  The phrase is "April Showers Bring May Flowers," but most I see a lot more rain in May.  Just wait for a rainy day and do rainy day activities.

Another cool thing would be a National Nerd Day.  We need to celebrate nerd and being nerdy.  So just nerd out on whatever day this is.

One more thing to celebrate is Kid's Day.  A day to celebrate children.  This needs to be a national holiday.

Colossalcon!!

In two weeks, I'll be attending a convention at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio called Colossalcon.  This will be the con's 13th year in existence and it will be my third time attending.  There are all sorts of guests attending this year!  You have your basic Voice Actor guests, but there are much more this time around.  There are djs, artists, a man who calls himself Samurai Dan.  I'm mostly going for the voice actors, though, especially a certain Vic Mignogna.

I also hope to see several fans I've made there, such as good friend Amanda Gunkle and many more. We are part of a fangroup for Vic Mignogna called "Risembool Rangers."  Risembool is the name of the hometown of one of Vic's most popular characters.

I'm so anxious!  I'm so excited!  Aah!!

Violence on TV

Most violence in TV today are set on channels that unintended viewers usually don't even look at.  TV violence is very minimal compared to movie violence, and I don't think there is too much.  It's easy to change the channel or turn the TV off if violent shows bother you.  The most violent shows I've seen are usually after 12 am.  As a fan of anime, I've become pretty immune to the affects of TV violence.  I don't really care.

The below image is from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.  It's an example of a violent show that isn't too violent at all.  This show has plenty of bloodshed in it, but nothing too extreme and all the other story elements of it outweigh the violence by a lot.

Cinco de Mayo!

It's the fifth of May: Cinco de Mayo  National No Homework day!  I really haven't taken a big part in this since I got into high school.  I didn't know it was National No Homework day - that may explain the minimal amount of homework I have today.  In Japan it's also a holiday called Children's Day.  They don't have school today.  Why can't we have that holiday?  Mrs. Toma gave us candy to celebrate it.   Why doesn't the US have a children's day?  We have Mother's Day and Father's Day, why no Children's Day?
