Blog Reflections

After blogging for all these many months, I find myself quite enjoying it.  There have a few I've done on my own, such as the ones about Colossalcon.  I'd like to keep a blog of my own.  I don't know how active I'd be or what I'd do with it, though.  Perhaps talk about my art or blog about my experiences at cons.

People who blog for money are lucky!  I wish I could get paid.  It's easy and you can blog about very insightful topics or inform people about things.  I think those who get paid for doing blogs can be very helpful.

I like being able to get my thoughts out, though having the blog at school feels a little restrictive as there's some thing's I'd like to talk about that may be seen as very bizarre.  I like the customizability of blogger too.

I may make my own blog or perhaps use deviantART's journal function a lot more often.  Maybe I'll be more active on Tumblr.  I kind of look forward to it!

National Egg Day

Image location: http://facebook.tabletents.com/media/ItemImages/202350-v2.JPG
So, tomorrow is National Egg Day.  My first question is: why?  Like I said in the blog about the National ??? Month, it's all silliness.  People like to celebrate weird things.

I guess I'll eat an egg for breakfast.  My grandpa has chickens and they lay eggs.  I guess for them National Egg Day is everyday.

I prefer my eggs fried so that the yolk isn't soupy.  I can't eat the yolk unless I have the whtie of the egg with it - it's too dry and bitter for my liking.

I like to put eggs on ham and cheese sandwiches, topped with an English muffin bun.  Sometimes I'll have bacon and sometimes I'll replace the ham with a sausage patty.  Now I'm hungry.

One More Week

Colossalcon is next week!  Next weekend!

I'm so anxious and excited all at once.  I'm nearly done with my Zelos Wilder cosplay.  The character I'll be cosplaying is this guy here:

He's a character from the video game Tales of Symphonia and its sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

I've got only the gloves to finish now!

There are so many people I'm looking forward to see here!

Aaaah!

National Months of Celebration

Some people don't necessarily understand why people would set aside months to celebrate things.  You have May as the national smile month, March as the national reading month, we even have a black history month.

The ones that I know of, are a lot of things that America doesn't seem to have enough of.  People do need to smile more.  It's good to promote reading.  The celebration of the rich history of a certain ethnicity is a good thing.

I don't see these celebratory months as something silly.  I see more of the "National ??? Day" celebrations as silly such as "National Pirate Day" or "National Popcorn Day".

It's mostly silly fun.  Society doesn't disrespect those who don't celebrate these silly things.

I think there should be a day in May to celebrate May.  The phrase is "April Showers Bring May Flowers," but most I see a lot more rain in May.  Just wait for a rainy day and do rainy day activities.

Another cool thing would be a National Nerd Day.  We need to celebrate nerd and being nerdy.  So just nerd out on whatever day this is.

One more thing to celebrate is Kid's Day.  A day to celebrate children.  This needs to be a national holiday.

Colossalcon!!

In two weeks, I'll be attending a convention at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio called Colossalcon.  This will be the con's 13th year in existence and it will be my third time attending.  There are all sorts of guests attending this year!  You have your basic Voice Actor guests, but there are much more this time around.  There are djs, artists, a man who calls himself Samurai Dan.  I'm mostly going for the voice actors, though, especially a certain Vic Mignogna.

I also hope to see several fans I've made there, such as good friend Amanda Gunkle and many more. We are part of a fangroup for Vic Mignogna called "Risembool Rangers."  Risembool is the name of the hometown of one of Vic's most popular characters.

I'm so anxious!  I'm so excited!  Aah!!

Violence on TV

Most violence in TV today are set on channels that unintended viewers usually don't even look at.  TV violence is very minimal compared to movie violence, and I don't think there is too much.  It's easy to change the channel or turn the TV off if violent shows bother you.  The most violent shows I've seen are usually after 12 am.  As a fan of anime, I've become pretty immune to the affects of TV violence.  I don't really care.

The below image is from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.  It's an example of a violent show that isn't too violent at all.  This show has plenty of bloodshed in it, but nothing too extreme and all the other story elements of it outweigh the violence by a lot.

Cinco de Mayo!

It's the fifth of May: Cinco de Mayo  National No Homework day!  I really haven't taken a big part in this since I got into high school.  I didn't know it was National No Homework day - that may explain the minimal amount of homework I have today.  In Japan it's also a holiday called Children's Day.  They don't have school today.  Why can't we have that holiday?  Mrs. Toma gave us candy to celebrate it.   Why doesn't the US have a children's day?  We have Mother's Day and Father's Day, why no Children's Day?

Prom!

So, prom has come and gone! I've never actually been into dances or Prom for that matter.  Even if asked I probably wouldn't have gone.  I may go to my Senior Prom, but I might not - it depends if I have a date or not.  I don't feel like I need to have a date or anything, but that'd be the only reason for me to go.  I didn't even realize Prom had taken place so there's not much else for me to say...

Earth Day

Green Cities CampaignTomorrow is Earth Day!  I've never actually done anything for Earth Day.  It's not really a big deal to me, or hasn't been in the past.

Many consider Earth Day the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.

There is a site for the holiday called earthday.org   It is currently holding a campaign called "Green Cities Campaign" in attempt to decrease annual rising temperatures

There are several events going on worldwide from the Americas to Oceania.

Spring Break!

My brother Joseph's birthday was yesterday, but we celebrated it the day before on Saturday.  The day started with me waking up at around 10.  I didn't eat breakfast because of how early it was.  Not long after waking up and getting settled in front of my computer, we left and went to the Spotted Cow near the Adrian Mall that has a Putt-putt course.  We ate ice cream then played putt-putt.

When we were done playing, we went and visited my grandmas (my grandma and great grandma). My great grandma had just gotten home from a nursing home after having her foot operated on due to an infection.  We said hi, walked my grandma's dog, a shihtzu named Rusty, and we went home.

Later that night we had a bond fire and roasted marshmellows.  The night carrid on boringly, I played on my computer for a while and then went to sleep.

Devious Fun with the Legend of Zelda

I believe I've metioned on here before that I have an account on deviantART in which I post the large majority of my drawings and other forms of art.  Recently, I've started an ongoing fan comic series based on the Nintendo game franchise, Legend of Zelda.  It's an original storyline, but I'm simply borrowing dessigns and several characters from many of the Zelda games.

A brief summary of what has happened so far:
Several years ago, two opposing nations went into war and was stopped by the goddesses' chosen nation of Hyrule.  Now a society has risen that opposes Hyrule and has been attacking them.

We meet Link, a soft spoken young man who lives on a small farm with a woman named Aya, his cousin Navi, and a few others.  Meanwhile, throughout the conutry, a small terrorist group has been attacking small towns and the royal family has been alerted.  His highness sends his eldest daughter, Princess Zelda and her good friend Sheik to go recruit people to help defend the land of Hyrule and beyond.

If you want to read the comic, go here.

Cheaters Never Win

If I spotted a friend trying to cheat, I honestly don't know what I'd do.  I'd probably confront them.  I'd scold them for doing that or explain how wrong it was to do so.  I haven't really come into the situation of knowing a friend was cheating.  I hope none of my friends have done anything like that.  I'm really not sure what I would do.

Photography Composition

This is a photo of a saucer holding a mug of a brown liquid being knocked over.  This is a shot that some may seem very difficult to achieve without good timing and perhaps some practice.  The bowl and the mug are placed more to the left of the image as the liquid stretches out to the other end of the the frame. The background is very plain as is the clear saucer are very plain, I assume, to bring attention to the contrasting color of the liquid and the droplets being sprayed around the area.   It's a very nice shot and needs two people taking part in it to make it look the way it does for the timing to be correct.

Top Four

I have many things in my life that are very important to me.  It's difficult to choose just a few.

One are my sketchbooks and my ability to draw.  I spend a lot of my time drawing and it's a big part of my plan for the future.  Without it, much of my aspirations would be pointless.

Another is anime and  roleplay.  A large number of my friends I've met online are linked to me through likeing the same anime or we decided to roleplay together one day.  It's a big part of my home life and how I spend most of my time there.

The third very important thing I'll decide to list is Vic Mignogna.  He's become a big role model for me and I adore him in very many ways.  He's inspired much of my artistic advancements and my goals for the future.   I think I'd have very different views and goals if it were not for him.

The fourth thing I'll list is my family at home.  I'm not a very social person and I prefer to be alone rather than with a large group of people most of the time.  Sure I like to get out there and be active with people, but I feel more comfortable just sitting at home, with my mom, watching some random movie she decided to rent that evening.

And that's that.  I could go on but that's what I'll list here for now.

Popular President

I think the President who's made the biggest impact would be Abraham Lincoln.  He was in a big part responsible for the freedom of slaves and all their eventual rights given to them.

The hardest thing about being President is having to please so many people when half the nation opposes you.

I would not want to be President.  It's too much of a weight and I don't feel like I could live with the pressure.

I wouldn't run for President, so I wouldn't make a campaign pitch (it would have to depend on big issues of the time.)

Charity Event!

If I had $100,000 to give away, I'd give it to a few different things.

I'd go out once a day and give money/buy food to at least one homeless person a day using this money until it's all used up.

I'd give a fraction away to any animal rights group (but not Peta) who are in need of the money.

I'd give a small amount to a random school's Fine Arts programs.  I see too much of a focus on sports and physical extra curricular activities in schools.  The artsy people need support too.

I want out of here!

At this moment I would love to be on one of the many colored beaches around the world.  I love colors and I love the nice warmth of sunny beaches.  Since it is winter right now a warm beach is welcome to me.

I'd prefer the Red Sand Beach in Kahailulu, Hawaii; the purple sanded beaches of Pfieffer Beach in Californio; or beaches with pink sand on Harbor Island in the district of the Bahamas.  Red is my favorite color and these two colors seem aesthetically the most appealing to me.

The other colored beaches are no doubt astounding in beauty, but I prefer the more feminine and pretty colors of red, purple and pink.

Bug Out!

If I were an insect I'd be a picasso bug.

I am a very artistic person, so I think it'd make a lot of sense being an insect named after an artist.  It's small and cute and round, and though I'm not small I have a round face and some have called me cute.  It is very unique in apperance.  It is white with blue spots surrounded with black outlines and it looks like a tiny canvas that's been painted on.

I an artistic little Picasso Bug!

Final Exam

The one tool I really think I'd really ever use after graduating high school is blogging or Google Drive.  I write a lot and on many sites I use there are blog-like features (i.e. Journals, Notes), so I think it'd come easier to me than the other tools.  Google Drive can easily be considered another area for me to write.  It would also make collaborating easier and quicker than through a normal email service because those who have access to it can edit at the same time.  I do plan on going into some writing field so that'd make it easier to write and work on it without having to rely on one computer that has the potential to crash or break down, causing the loss of whatever it is I'm writing.

I'll never use RSS. I'm really not that interested in that and most of the sites I use have their own way of telling me what has been updated on the website (either messages on the site or a subscription box).  I rarely actually get emails from the sites I partake in, and when I do they're usually once-a-month updates on anything that's happened to the overall site.

Winter Break!

For the majority of break I spent time on the internet, talking to my friend Brie.  If I wasn't doing that, I was playing on the wiiU we get for Chrismas (at dad's) or watching a movie (at mom's).

For Chrismtas, I got a small amount of things.  I got an early gift of Hobbit: an Unexpected Journy extended edition, Blu-ray from my mom and nothing else specifically for me from her.  She got all of us new controllers for the wii and Just Dance 2014.
My dad got me a body mist with the scent "Japanese Garden", a digital scrabble-type game, and, a gift that was originally supposed to be for my birthday, a vide from Vic Mignogna.

The rest of the year was spent on the computer and I watched the ball drop through a LiveStream at my mom's house.

I don't make new year's resolutions because I know I won't keep them and at this point in my life I have enough stuff to worry about as it is.  I quite liked the snow days.  I spent my nights up late and I slept in pretty long.

I've been at my dad's since Wednesday because my mom has gone to visit her boyfriend in Mississippi and I spent my time playing The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker on the wiiU.
